Is he on a roll or what?
The man with a certain set of skills who trained both Obi-Wan (Ben) Kenobi and Bruce Wayne, voiced Aslan, fought off wolves, rescued his family from kidnappers and was an actual hero himself as Darkman, is now Irish Man of the Year!
New York City Council woman Christine C. Quinn awarded Liam Neeson the Thomas Manton Irish Man of the Year Award uyesterday(March 18th.) While accepting the award, Neeson said, "There's a popular assumption that actors are very good public speakers. It's absolute B.S. It's actually my worst nightmare. I'm delighted and thrilled to be here. Let me say what an honor it is to accept this Irish Man Of The Year Award. I'm humbled to join a distinguished group of past Manton award recipients, Senators Ted Kennedy, George Mitchell. Tonight is a great example of the Irish-American tradition for commitment to public service, the Irish-American commitment to community and helping others. I'm truly humbled, so thank you."
