In case you didn't know, I am a huge geek. Ginormous. I love comic books and sci-fi. Batman, Spider-Man, Star Wars, Star Trek, The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings.
Yesterday, the BIGGEST thing everz happened. The Amazing Spider-Man #700 came out. It is the final issue. The story, by Dan Slott, features Peter Parker switching places with Doctor Octopus. Doc Ock is dying. The pair swap bodies. Apparently, Peter dies in Ock's body. Now, Spider-Man is really Doc Ock's brain - or mind - in Peter's body.
Writer Dan Slott has even gotten death threats over the storyline. Which is kinda weird when you think about it - it's a comic book story. It's not like we're talkin' about any thing important like gun control, world peace or a cure for cancer.
Kevin Smith, says that it won't last a year and Peter will be back as Spider-Man before you know it. Especially since Sony is working on a new film franchise. They'll probably use that same resurrection stone that Harry Potter used in The Deathly Hallows...
